Weekly Email

Hiya friends and family!     Right, I try to make my emails enjoyable for you guys just to hear the funny bits and cultural things and whatnot.     I was honored to be a PALLBEARER for a funeral of one of the members who has recently passed. I have never been to a funeral before. But we got there and everything worked out. At one point near the graveside, on the muddy Welsh ground we carried the casket to the grave opening and even lowered it down. So that was pretty cool.     Also, as you know we got a very strong windstorm here. (We have had much worse in Oklahoma, but it was projected to have been really bad for the ole Island) Yeah, it was windy. I guess we weren't in the worst spot. Part of our fence blew down, every rubbish bin was tipped over, and I even saw footage of a trampoline that got hit by a train because it blew onto the tracks. Oh, but almost nothing can stop a Train rolling up at 80+ MPH.     Ugh, the Brazilian family is at it ag...

Hiya guys.     I have a new companion now. His name is Elder Maxfield and he is from Sandy, Utah. Previously he was serving in Walsall, Birmingham area in England before coming down to Newport, Wales. We are getting along great :)      I don't feel like "the work" needs to necessarily be shared because it is the Lords. But as his servant I can see progress among the vineyard of souls.     Quick little tangent, but Meteorology Me is super excited because we are getting some strong storms this week. Basically the equivalent of a miniature hurricane coming through with winds forecast to gust around 70 mph. Anyway, that will probably change though, still something to look forward to haha.     I want to share some funny things I have learned about myself:     -Elder Berry loves Fruit. Especially Frozen. It has to because I miss ice. Seriously. -Elder Berry has Parfaits for breakfast all the time. No one can stop him. -Elder Berry LOVES L...

Double Roast

Hiya everyone!     This week was good. We have some friends that are progressing, we put one on date, and that Russian family wants us over ALL THE TIME.     Other than that we walked several miles a day visiting the people in our area and letting them know we exist and we care.      Yesterday we had two Dinners in a row, both the English Roast. (Every time it is an English Roast out here) So I am pretty full now even on Monday. American Thanksgiving prepared me well!      For our P-Day today we just got some £3 Meal Deals from Tesco (like a Dollar General), had a "picnic" and played some basketball. I am not too good, but I made a few shots. The asphalt was wet too. I am surprised no one is that injured considering that.     Other than that I am excited for transfers coming on Thursday. Don't know what is going on, but you will know in the next email!     -Elder Berry

Hi everyone. Thank you for all the birthday wishes! I will get back to you as soon as I can. Yes, I know I didn't get an email out last week, so sorry. It has been a bit of a crazy time but I have some pretty funny stories to share with you all. So trying to recap from the email that should've come out last week, it was quite an uneventful couple days, until Sunday.     We have become friends with this awesome 15 year old Russian lad and his family and we invited him to church and he actually came!      Later that night we met with a Muslim who we had met on the street for a lesson. He is firm in his Islamic faith and if anything, we managed to reignite his belief in Mohammed as a prophet as we respectfully shared our beliefs. (Peace be upon him.) Also, this guy is a literal rocket scientist at 22 years old who didn't complete a formal education. He just works and works and trusts God and his life has been alright. He recently got a motorbike which he pulled up ...
