Hiya friends and family!

 

 

Right, I try to make my emails enjoyable for you guys just to hear the funny bits and cultural things and whatnot.

 

 

I was honored to be a PALLBEARER for a funeral of one of the members who has recently passed. I have never been to a funeral before. But we got there and everything worked out. At one point near the graveside, on the muddy Welsh ground we carried the casket to the grave opening and even lowered it down. So that was pretty cool.

 

 

Also, as you know we got a very strong windstorm here. (We have had much worse in Oklahoma, but it was projected to have been really bad for the ole Island) Yeah, it was windy. I guess we weren't in the worst spot. Part of our fence blew down, every rubbish bin was tipped over, and I even saw footage of a trampoline that got hit by a train because it blew onto the tracks. Oh, but almost nothing can stop a Train rolling up at 80+ MPH.

 

 

Ugh, the Brazilian family is at it again doing internal damage with their food! This time it was Pasta bro. So much Pasta. The Pot was big enough to put a Newborn baby inside and it had to be cooked on two burners! I got 4ths because if you don't then they think you don't like their food. Nah mate, excuse me while I test the limits of my appetite. AND THEN they bring out this huge cake with three pots of Ice cream. Oh, and you have to get 2nds and 3rds of that. It is so weird because in my family we always have to ration things out to divide amongst the 8 of us. With this family the portions you can have are limitless.

 

 

We were blessed to have taught 3 New people this week that basically came to us. One of them is actually going down the list of Christian religions to find the "True Church" . He is gonna read the Book of Mormon and get that question answered here pretty soon.

 

 

Also, I had a bit of a scary encounter with a guy that walked up to us on a dodgy street coming back from a lesson. He stood up to us and said "If there wasn't a camera right there I would smash your head in". Yay.

 

 

Doing pretty well out here, honestly just a bit stressed because I don't wanna mess up. I care about this ward and our friends too much. 

 

 

Thanks for the prayers and support. Oh yeah, we will see what reverberations come round these parts in response to this Ukraine-Russia conflict.

Hiya! I ticked another item off my mission list. We met with a man this week (The one from Patagonia in the previous email), and we got talking and found out he is the head pastor at 3 Welsh-speaking churches in the area. That is his job. He let us into his Chapel, and we got to look around. It was quite something. On the top of the building (much like our temples), was inscribed the word "Zion". But yeah, it was cool to teach a Welsh Pastor. Don't really see much happening with him though. We also taught Wendy again this week, and this time she cried when she shared about the Plan of Salvation. She is so sweet and humble, and we look forward to continuing to teach her. I pray she joins the church; she would be so good. On Wednesday, we had what I call "Old Person Game Night" at the chapel.
