I Am Moving!

Image
Hey everyone!      So, I am moving to a new area... Chelmsy Wood!! It is just on the edge of big boy town Brirmingham (Hey, that is the name of my mission!....) So that will be a big change for a few reasons:     1. My new companion will be brand new to the area (which means that we will have to figure everything out all over again haha. But that is a great opportunity as well to set the tone and have a fresh start).     2. I am no longer in Wales, but back in England.      3. Assuming I stay in the area for more than a transfer (Generally a 6 week period our mission is broken into) I would become part of the reformed Birmingham Mission boundaries and be under the direction of a new mission president. Basically the equivalent of a new mission.     4. I will be in a 4 man flat, sharing it with the Elders serving in Solihull. I have looked forward to that for a while, as I miss living with my large family as odd as that sounds an...

Happy Easter!

Image
Hey guys!     Went and had a little English pudding I haven't had yet: sticky toffee pudding. Pudding doesn't mean a thing like we know it. Basically just a toffee cake with some syrup, but pretty nice.     Chocolate Easter eggs are HUGE in this country. Every brand possible makes a chocolate egg and they sell like mad for Easter. Cadbury really makes a show this time of year. Love that stuff.     Also, the fire alarm kept going off so the Fire trucks came 3 times. Ugh. There was no fire though.     Spiritual things~     We met a new friend this week as well. I found him on Instagram. He is basically a highly open minded university student who is really intrigued with interfaith stuff. He has met some missionaries (who I know) in the last as well. He feels like we get way too much rubbish thrown at us because in his interfaith experience and with a few LDS friends he has found that we share a lot of beliefs and he likes the views we have...

Casnewydd

Image
Hiya everyone, yaaright?     In case you are wondering, "Casnewydd" is Welsh for "Newport", the town I am in. You pronounce it *Cas-new-eeth*. Kinda weird tbh. It gets a lot worse though. Some recent villages I have visited include:     *Cwmbran (Coom-bron) *Llanbradach (Hlan-bra-dock) *Ystrad Mynach (Ee-strod-mee-knock) *Pontllanfraith (Pont-Hlan-Frieth)     Also "hospital" is: "Yspyty" which is kind of hilarious.     Thursday we had Zone Conference. We focused on planning and how to really include God in it. I felt like I gained a lot from it and I feel good.     Also, we managed to get a thunderstorm! We were walking home and I saw a little slit of lightning crawl across the sky followed by that oh so comforting rumble. Ahh!! So cool. And it also sleeted. So British weather is borderline freezing all the time so you get this icy sleet/snow/hail and it is just weird haha.     This week I just wanted to share that I had the op...

Hey

Hey Guys!     The week was nothing too eventful.     Sadly we have to stop meeting with our friend in Egypt. He is learning so much from the Book of Mormon and wants to meet with us, but we just can't because of his safety. That is kind of sad.     Lots of missed and canceled teaching appointments as well. When we went out to find it just wasn't the best either. So it was a bit of a struggle this week, but we made it work. Most of my success from this week was just through social media. Been able to have a few people who are interested.     Then we were able to watch our General Conference this weekend! That was great. We were able to watch it with our friend as well so we are excited for him because he really liked it. I can't wait to study all the new scripture.     ----BIG NEWS--- (again)     Birmingham, England is getting a temple! That is incredible. It will be a few years before she is good to go.      Pre...
