Happy Easter!
Hey guys!
Went and had a little English pudding I haven't had yet: sticky toffee pudding. Pudding doesn't mean a thing like we know it. Basically just a toffee cake with some syrup, but pretty nice.
Chocolate Easter eggs are HUGE in this country. Every brand possible makes a chocolate egg and they sell like mad for Easter. Cadbury really makes a show this time of year. Love that stuff.
Also, the fire alarm kept going off so the Fire trucks came 3 times. Ugh. There was no fire though.
Spiritual things~
We met a new friend this week as well. I found him on Instagram. He is basically a highly open minded university student who is really intrigued with interfaith stuff. He has met some missionaries (who I know) in the last as well. He feels like we get way too much rubbish thrown at us because in his interfaith experience and with a few LDS friends he has found that we share a lot of beliefs and he likes the views we have of service in the community. Testifying of the Book of Mormon and the restoration and it was great!
Our friend Antonio also is progressing well towards lasting conversion. When he fixes his schedule to make it to church more often we will set a date.
Our neighbor and his wife have also been reading the Book of Mormon and they say that they feel a lot of peace when they open the Book. We taught about how the Book came forward from God and he liked it. They are most intrigued with Eternal Marriage, so we gave them a pamphlet on that as well. I am so excited to hear about their progress. It may take a bit, but in the Lord's time I have faith this is a prepared family.
One day we were challenged to have the spirit guide us more than usual. So we went to the cemetery because that is what we felt. Nobody wanted to talk, rightly so, but the spirit was definitely stronger on the grounds. We went to our deceased friend Lance's grave and did some pondering and prayer. We asked if it was the Lord's will, that someone come to us. A minute later some people came walking down the path and mourning at the grave directly in front of us. They were young and so we didn't talk to them. But we took the opportunity to pray instead. Even though it may seem like nothing came of it, I felt so good afterwards. It helped me get a glimpse of what our Savior has seen: Us at our relatives' graves. He knows where they are, and so do we. But he has compassion for us and mourns with us. I felt like I had the opportunity to do that. I know that when we really pray, God really hears.
We also made a cake for Easter! A three tier chocolate cake with WAYYY too much frosting haha.
Have a good week guys.
