Storm!

Image
Hiya!   For Youth activities on Wednesday night we race remote control cars through obstacle courses. We only had 1 car to do it though. Honestly that is a pretty fun event.   We met a new friend as well. She is originally from London and she left her abusive situation a few months ago with only her Bible. She loved the lesson of the Restoration we shared with her and came to sacrament. Was awesome!   On Friday Elder Watson joined for AP exchanges. Honestly, the exchanges were super boring. We got completely soaked in the storm. Completely. But it was for the Lord.   On Sunday a storm came in. We wanted to tract, but when I started seeing lightning bolts I figured we would just watch it roll in. It took us a bit but we got down to the beach just in time to feel the power of the wind and see the big waves. It was fun. Once again not an inch of me was dry. Rain comes down, no sorry not down, rain comes across over here so your rain gear doesn't protect you too much. It...

Hiya!   Elder Gasser left for Swindon. Yeah, back to my old area to see all my friends and eat all that amazing food. So cool for him. I am chilling in Weymouth for the next 7 weeks with my new comp Elder Nye.   Elder Nye is from Sacramento California area, he is 19 as well and has been out only about 6 months. We get on great.   This week was pretty solid. We had 2 lessons with Thelma. We read Ether 2 and 3 out of the Book of Mormon and got some pretty solid doctrine on faith and acting in faith, something you must do to be baptized into the church. Then on Sunday we taught her the chain of priesthood authority that flows through our church and how it is organized.   We had some good contacts as well and taught our 19 year old mates a bit as well.    Today for our P-day we went and had a District P-day *Gasp*. This district is awesome. We all like each other so I am super thankful for that.    We went out to Stonehenge and got some nice pics. For...

This is also from a week ago. I have found that the ole mobile can't handle sending images from Google photos. It spazzes out man. Anywho...   Our friend Thelma is making great progress! We met with her twice to teach the big 3 commandments and she understands. She even joined the women to watch General Conference yesterday! She has a big operation coming up literally right when she is ready to be baptized though, so it could be a minute before that...   We did more whiteboard tracking as well which worked out nicely with the Lord's help.    On Thursday we had Zone Conference and one of the training sessions touched me. It was about the power of the scriptures. All we did was read the Book of Mormon and what it had to say about itself, the Bible prophets and Jesus Christ. After 30 or so verses of scripture throughout the Book we all just felt so calm and full of joy: The Spirit. That set the tone for the remainder of the meeting and everyone was really reverent....

Charlotte's Baptism!

Hiya!   This is from A week ago (19th Sept-24th Sept.)   Tuesday we went to Bournemouth for interviews. Since it was Charlotte's first time attending Institute in Bournemouth, I got permission to stay there for the day! So we went out with the other missionaries with a huge whiteboard to go walk around with. We wrote "who inspires you?" On the board and everyone could write their answers around it! I was surprised how well it worked.   After that we went to the chapel and 25+ Syrian Refugees attended a class for free English. The teachers? Us. So that was good fun. We did our best to teach how ro order food at a restaurant. The institute service was great as well. We spent the night in my old Poole flat! Oh, but I don't have any pics because it was a bit messy. Got rubbish sleep that night because I had no pillow. Never forget a pillow. I thought I learned that at Scout Camp haha.   When we got back to our area, inspired by the whiteboard activity we decided to use i...
