Charlotte's Baptism!
Hiya!
This is from A week ago (19th Sept-24th Sept.)
Tuesday we went to Bournemouth for interviews. Since it was Charlotte's first time attending Institute in Bournemouth, I got permission to stay there for the day! So we went out with the other missionaries with a huge whiteboard to go walk around with. We wrote "who inspires you?" On the board and everyone could write their answers around it! I was surprised how well it worked.
After that we went to the chapel and 25+ Syrian Refugees attended a class for free English. The teachers? Us. So that was good fun. We did our best to teach how ro order food at a restaurant. The institute service was great as well. We spent the night in my old Poole flat! Oh, but I don't have any pics because it was a bit messy. Got rubbish sleep that night because I had no pillow. Never forget a pillow. I thought I learned that at Scout Camp haha.
When we got back to our area, inspired by the whiteboard activity we decided to use it ourselves. And it kind of worked! We tracked it (knocked doors). Imagine you are in your house and two young blokes are on your doorstep with a Whiteboard with some deep questions on it. We actually were let in and taught a lesson on the spot. So, yeah. It is just funny honestly.
But Charlotte's baptism is creeping up and so Friday we spent all the time prepping that. Then Saturday comes round and we are at the church nice and early getting everything prepped! Then we get a call on the church phone. Needless to say we ALMOST had to cancel the baptism and drain the font. We got things sorted through and went ahead. It was quite stressful because people were already coming in and we had this silent burden knowing we might have to break the news. The service was great though and over half the branch came to support Charlotte! On Sunday she got confirmed as well! Yay!
