"Fo the Boys, Fo the Lod"

Hello Everyone. This week was one I will remember. It was a wild week of travel, travel mishaps, and just plain stupid situations that crack me up.

All was pretty chill up until Wednesday. We had the opportunity to have our Zone Conference in Plymouth! We got to hear Mission President Gallacher and his wife share about the new era of missionary service as pioneers through Covid. We also each had the opportunity to share our testimonies (What we know to be true through the witness of the Holy Ghost). It was a touching time to hear everyone share their faith and how it had been strengthened amidst the opposition. I too shared what it meant to be here and a little about my Faith in Jesus Christ.

On the way home, we got a little caught up talking to a friend on the train and the doors wouldn't open to let us off. So we ended up in Weymouth, the entirely wrong town. So, looking incredibly sus with a full Suit on, a pillow, and a cardboard box of gluten-free food we made the best of our situation walking around trying to get food and figure out a plan to get home. We ended up with no food, so I just bought some squashes and called that dinner haha. But we made it home at 10:30pm. (Way too late)

BUT THAT WASN'T THE HARD PART.

It turns out we got new Ikea furniture while out and our old wardrobes and beds had been taken. So our flat was horrendous to be in because our stuff was everywhere. And to top it off we had two Elder's staying over the next day and we literally didn't have space for them to sleep. So I built a bed until 2:30am. The next day was also crazy, so that is what we had to do. It was so crowded in fact that we had to eat dinner on top of our half constructed Wardrobe the next night. What a time.

We also got to go to a Young Men's camp for those next two days. We had a great time playing all sorts of games. Ultimate Frisbee, Football (The real kind), and what I call English 4 square. Basically 4 square with a football where you can only use your feet and head. Very British indeed.

We also got to meet a kid that apparently had been inactive for years who is just coming back. We are excited to work with him because he really hit it off with us.

The final stretch of the week and maybe the most chaotic was Friday Night-Saturday. We traveled all the way to Yoeville about 2 hours away and got some dinner with 8 other Elders. I got my first real fish and chips! Super good.

On the way walking back to our flat we had a drunk man join us. We tried to keep the situation friendly because he thought we were clubbing. But I guess it was too friendly because we started this chant that was "For the Boys and For the Lord" (But with a Manchester accent). Then we would all go "Ayyyyyyy" and the man would get all fired up haha. So fired up in fact that he starts to undo his trousers "For the Boys". Well we told him that it was not for the boys but he insisted. We walked away while he is tryna undress, and then he starts doing this really hilarious drunk man run to catch up to "the Boys". He makes it back and we are videoing at this point. He puts arms around us and says he is "Chillin with the Boys" anyway we finally convince him we gotta go and make it back to the Flat. Then we somehow found a way to sleep 9 of us in that flat that night. I used a towel for my blanket man.

The next day we played some hardcore football at the park with a few friends we met in the park. I was nicknamed "hero" even though I didn't make a goal haha. I came close though. Then we went to Weymouth and played Volleyball! The weather was miserably windy and cold when we got there, but we decided to full send and it worked out. It was good fun, especially when the lady with the Donkey riding nearby told us that we need to stop hitting the ball to her. We were just that bad haha.

I know this was a long one, but it was one crazy week haha. It SHOULD chill out now as far as travel, but we just got approved to go inside houses and have dinner with families which is SICK!! So we have a few of those. We have been helping several people and we are coming close to baptism with one friend. How sweet.

I love this opportunity and am willing to exert everything and roll with the punches to be here. God knew I could handle it and that shows his trust.

"...behold, these things shall be hid up, to come forth unto the Gentiles, by the gift and power of the Lamb.

36 And in them shall be written my gospel, saith the Lamb, and my rock and my salvation." 1 Nephi 13:35-36

I love this scripture because it talks about how the Book of Mormon will come forth to provide the Gospel, Rock, and Salvation of Jesus Christ to the Gentiles. I know that the Book of Mormon does teach the gospel of Jesus Christ and brings me closer to him.
