Baptism!
Hiya everyone.
I see it has become colder in the US. Still waiting for the pattern switch over here in England, but I am enjoying the Sunshine and clear skies until then.
This week we went to a town called "Christchurch'' multiple times. The town has got this really cool history to it. The center of the town has a mound with the ruins of a castle and surrounding it is a trench where a moat used to be. The river nearby and the town buildings are all way old and it feels medieval to be there.
We also checked out the Christchurch Priory, which I believe is like a Catholic Temple. It was super ancient and had an insane amount of detail to it. So much so that the graves of lots of famous religious leaders were inside the floor and the large stone above had their name. It was creepy, but also magical. We are talking from like the 1400's kind of old. Insane.
The highlight of the week was John Lawrence's baptism!! He was so prepared. We planned it all out and had a fantastic service on Saturday. I had the opportunity to baptise him. It was so tender. The thing I remember most is how much Jesus Christ trusted me to witness before him that John had been baptised. I am so thankful that the power of God can be manifested by worthy priesthood holders.
(The "Priesthood" is the power and authority to act in God's name.)
Quick side notes:
Some things that are hard to get in the UK are
-Root Beer
-Marshmallows
-Ranch
-Drinking Fountains
-Any kind of proper Mexican Food
So yeah, I miss these things.
I managed to get some root beer though from the Zone Leaders. The cost to import it from the US is $170. No joke. Enjoy your darn tootin root beer in America, cuz it is a "luxury" over here.
Anyway, next week is going to be a HUGE change mission wide as we have transfers coming up. Will I stay or will I go? I won't have Elder Stoddart as a companion anymore. But, I will no longer be a trainee. Anything can happen. Can't wait to see how it turns out!
Thank you for your prayers and thoughts everyone. I have been struggling with some illness and unkind thoughts to myself. It is all ok though. This is part of it. I still love it here and once those emotions are expressed I move on and get to work. I know Jesus Christ understands me and that as I serve others my own problems almost go away.
General Conference is gonna be Brilliant! I am excited to hear what the Lord's prophet will say to guide us and comfort us during this time!
Anywho, Cheers!
