Transfers And The Relief Society

Good afternoon everyone!

We had a proper transfer this week. It was kind of chaotic as usual.

After we got back from Stonehenge we got word that we were going to the Christchurch flat to build furniture for the incoming sisters. We had to build so much. We had to spend the night there it took so long. With a bunch of elders in a sister's flat we did what we could to get sleep. I used my damp towel bath towel as a blanket and my duffel bag as a pillow. My wilderness survival merit badge came in clutch.

That night I also got a call from the Mission President about what I would do on transfers. I would be getting a new companion who would be the district leader in Poole with me. I would introduce him to England and he would train me to be a district leader. He also told me to stop using a rubix cube. So I did. Gotta be more productive so that is what I am gonna do.

Wednesday was chaotic out of nowhere since Elder Stoddart was leaving up to Birmingham for his transfer. We saw 3 members, and taught two lessons one of which included a homemade mexican dinner of fajitas and nachos. It was quite good.

That night we also had a youth activity similar to "Fear Factor". It was awful. Some of the feats included carrying sardines in the mouth and depositing them in a sort of relay race, eating locusts, standing on ice barefoot, and sticking your hand into a jar of crickets. We got to help run it. My station was "worm pie". It was basically a gummy worm covered in whipped cream that you had to eat with no hands. Super easy. But we managed to convince them that SOME of the bowls had whipped cream MIXED with shaving cream. It was hilarious how many actually fell for it. So much so that they gagged as they were eating whipped cream saying "oh no, this one's one with shaving cream."

On Friday I got up at 3:45am and traveled on a train up to Bristol to meet my new comp and send off my previous comp, Elder Stoddart. I met my mate, had a fantastic few remarks from Mission President and came home, back to Poole. Of course missing an entire train and stop as I usually do. I still gotta learn the ways of the travel here in England.

The rest of my week I did a whole lot of missionary work and saw miracles each day. Basically the focus is being narrowed and we are strengthening the local congregation we serve more than anything. I feel really good about it though. I think Elder Stoddart was holding me back. I am ready to do what Jesus Christ trusts me to do, strengthen this area. As Conner said

"You gotta prepare them for the harvest" That is what is going on.

Good stuff.
