Transfer #4
Hey everybody!
So a "Transfer" is a term used as missionaries. Our 2 year time out here in the Southwestern UK is divided into 6 week segments called transfers. They are called such because on the start of each of these periods we get have the potential to get a new companion, serve in a new area, and/or get called to serve in a leadership position. It is an exciting time.
My First 2 transfers I was in Poole being trained by Elder Stoddart, then this last transfer I was in Poole with Elder Myers. So this is now my 4th transfer. (I get about 16 total)
So the rundown w/ this transfer is this:I am going to Newport Wales. Yup, WALES. My companion will be the district leader there. I am super excited!
This week was alright. Our teaching pool is back down to zero right now and we got bashed by some of our potential friends. The church as a whole is struggling out here. It can be rough sometimes.
But some cool parts of the week were we had some Dinners for the week with members.
The first one we had with a family and they served us some Jamaican jerk, fried plantains, and vegetables. For dessert we had an apple crumble. The way that I felt with this family was so special to me. I really felt like I was just one of their kids and that I didn't have to be so uptight and reserved. It was a much needed feeling being out here.
The second dinner was just a good solid Roast Dinner (Yorkshire puddings, roast potatoes, roast chicken, roast parsnips, steamed greens, gravy) and for dessert we had pears and custard. The English seem to really like their custard haha. I haven't exactly fallen in love with it yet. My American pallet misses strong sweet flavors. Spice is also incredibly weak over here. But their chocolates and pastries are super tasty.
Another little miracle is that we ran into this man named Bill twice, once on Tuesday and another time on Friday. He wants to meet again and he is interested in family history. So there we go.
I apologize for the lack of pictures.
Hope you guys have a great week.

1. Mail from a wonderful lady back home
2. The Sisters in our district had their door lock break so we had to call the locksmith and get through the window
