2022 In The UK

Happy New year everyone! I sure am looking forward to 2022 and I hope you are as well. 

 

 

I woke up at midnight, and with bleary eyes watched some of the fireworks being shot off round me and then drank an A&W root beer and oh boy did it bring back memories. Memories of hiking at Sulphur. Memories of the family reunion in Missouri. Memories of camping trips by the Blue river. All good memories involve my beloved root beer. That root beer was amazing. I got it for Christmas from a member.  Then I went back to bed 10 minutes later, haha.

 

 

This email will be short. 

 

 

Not a whole lot happened this week worth including in an email. New Years really got in the way of everything to be honest. The days before were bad because everyone was off work and doing their own thing, New Years Eve everyone was preparing to go crazy, and then the day after the world was just depressed and hungover.

 

 

A few of our friends have been flaky and it is really sad to lose contact with them and to be honest I would like to blame it on the holidays haha

 

 

However 2 people are making huge strides. Our friend Antonio had us over twice this week and he even fed us. What a G. He has already been taught everything and I think he is trying to sort out if this is the true church or not. He is a pure god-fearing man with really high standards already. He even created his own outreach for the homeless and has served several missions. 

 

 

The second was a social media miracle. I saw a bible verse in a man's bio and messaged him about it. He explained it to me and then mentioned how he felt like God had been leading him to our church. I shared my testimony with him and invited him to read the Book of Mormon off of the app. Several weeks have passed by and he hasn't been in much contact. But then he messaged me telling me how he feels by the Holy Spirit that after hours of reading the Book of Mormon and several prayers to God in faith he believes the Book of Mormon is true. He asked to meet and come to church. Unfortunately this man is in Poole, England and I have since moved to Newport, Wales. He still desires to meet with the missionaries there and has changed his entire focus to studying the Book of Mormon. I have great faith that this is an elect man of God considering how much faith he has to really read and pray about the Book of Mormon. He understands the spirit and that one doesn't need to know everything to feel its truth. I am so excited to see my friend, James, progress into the blessings offered from the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

 

 

Some other good news is that we are making plans to attend the temple next week with a struggling member.

Hiya! I ticked another item off my mission list. We met with a man this week (The one from Patagonia in the previous email), and we got talking and found out he is the head pastor at 3 Welsh-speaking churches in the area. That is his job. He let us into his Chapel, and we got to look around. It was quite something. On the top of the building (much like our temples), was inscribed the word "Zion". But yeah, it was cool to teach a Welsh Pastor. Don't really see much happening with him though. We also taught Wendy again this week, and this time she cried when she shared about the Plan of Salvation. She is so sweet and humble, and we look forward to continuing to teach her. I pray she joins the church; she would be so good. On Wednesday, we had what I call "Old Person Game Night" at the chapel.
