I Lost My Comp...
Heya everyone!
So I recently moved to the Solihull area near Birmingham! We share a flat with the Solhull Elders because we actually serve an area called Chelmsley Wood. But, we don't have a flat there because apparently it is too sketchy up there. Fun! So we take a bus for over an hour every day to the area and back. We have worked on our bus contacting skills in the meantime and have found some potentials.
So I have had some funny stories:
1.
Right, so it is transfer day and we get to the mission office and have our little meetups and stuff and I meet my new companion Elder North. The chap is from St. George Utah and he has been out for about 20 months. Previously he had been serving in the Anaheim California mission. (POSH places like Long Beach and stuff) So England is a bit different. He has been in England for like 5 months now though so he gets it.
anyway...
we are getting ready to grab our stuff to head to the train station and I got my 2 suitcases and Elder North has got his suitcase too.... and also a guitar, Ukulele, bedding, A big duffle bag, a smaller duffle bag, a proselyting satchel, towels, and an insanely heavy bag of all the food from his fridge.
It was rough. We had to catch like 4 trains to get to out flat. It got really bad though when we got to Birmigham city center at their main train station. It is so big it is basically like an airport with like multiple stories, and shops, huge walkways. Yeah, so as we are struggling to get around, I am having a hard time figuring out where to go because this multi-story train station is throwing off google maps. But we ask one of the staff how to get round to our next stop. 10 minute walk, ok. Not ok, this was ridiculous. I dropped the food bag so many times, my neck was sore from the weight of wet towels. It took us 4 minutes to just cross the street. My suitcase wheels are all broken now from the shear amount of weight. When we finally made it to the flat and got everything up to our flat on the 2nd story ( thanks dodgy lift) The best part was opening up that food bag. All the eggs were smashed, bananas mutilated, milk leaking. Smelled like a bowl of wet breakfast. But that is ok, we lived to tell the tale and the food kept us alive because the other two elders were new to the flat and the area as well so we had no food, besides random bits of things and some of Elder North's stuff.
2.
We are heading down to Warwick (pronounced War-rick. Don't ask me why) for our lovely district council. We got train tickets and stuff. Anyway we are contemplating whether to switch trains or not while we are stopped at one of the stations. Last minute, Elder North mentions that we need to get off and catch a different train for the remainder of our journey. So I get off and RIGHT as I step off the train doors start to close behind me. And once those things close, that is that. Within 5 seconds he is heading off down the railway to Stratford-Upon-Avon (Where Shakesphere was born woot woot) and I am chilling at Solihull. Kind of weird to be seperated. We called some of our leaders and let them know what was up and then headed down each separately to the chapel. So yeah, I took a train on my own and then I had a nice 20 minute walk through Warrick to the chapel. It was beautiful. Then Elder North arrived like 30 minutes later. Funny.
3.
The food. Like I mentioned earlier, we were just getting by on food as there were 4 of us and we all had inherited this flat for the first time. I had some pretty interesting meals to make it to today.
*Rice with peanut Butter
*Tortilla with potato and cheese
*Frozen Vegetables with Sugar
*Just straight canned Tuna
Oh goodness. But we went shopping today and it cost a pretty penny but I have food now.
4.
At church we met this guy that mentioned he served in the Adriatic South mission. Come to find out he served with Jason Draper and was his companion! Woah!
So that was super cool. We had a good chat with him and his wife (they met the last transfer of the mission, so, yeah haha) Got a pic with him and so yeah. If the Draper's see this then Miller says Hi!
-----
That is your weekly entertainment from me. Otherwise, the ward is super great. Everyone was very welcoming to us. I probably had the most reverent sacrament meetings I have ever had in my life. It was dead quiet almost the whole time. We have some meals with members this week and we have been doing our best to find people and it is kind of working, yeah.

Out of order probably:
1. Me and Elder Maxfield saying bye at transfers
2. All our luggage
3. Me and Elder North
4. A street view of our flat
5. The Chelmsley Wood Chapel
6. Our flat in Acocks Green, Solihull
7. Miller! Jason's Mission comp.
8. Frozen veg and sugar
