Warwick Castle And I Am Moving Already!

Hi guys! This email should be the normal length haha.

Maybe longer than normal. A lot happened.

Righty ho, so back last Monday we had a chill day ya know, just cleaning the flat and playing a bunch of board games. Later that evening we had dinner with some very cool people in our ward. Brother and Sister Morely. What was so cool is that Sister Morely was the secretary of the one and only ELDER HOLLAND for 4 YEARS! It was an honor to have dinner with her. Oh, and another member there, her husband was the driver for Elder Ballard during that time as well as the Europe Area office is just a 20 min drive from there. So I am gonna count that as the closest I have gotten to dining with a general authority.

Tuesday we went to tracting in the rain and got utterly REJECTED. Let's go.

We make it to Thursday and out of nowhere these allergies just attack everyone. Well, every American missionary. Imagine having to sneeze and not being able to so just kind of have this squinched up face right before you sneeze. Now pause, hold that. All day and also make it to where your eyes are watery but also dry and itchy. Yeah it was no fun. During this time I am chilling in Rugby with my friend Elder Silleto (He is Canadian, sick!). We spent the day passing out some leaflets for a family history event that is getting put on and visiting some members. It was good, but we just kind of died at like 6 from the allergies so we just put a wet towel over our faces and layed down.

Also, Queen Elizabeth just hit her 70th anniversary of monarchy. So the whole of the UK has decided to take Thursday-Monday off to celebrate. Every 10 years or so they have a "Jubilee" to celebrate and since it has been such a long time this go round was designated the "Platinum" Jubilee. Nothing too crazy happened near me, as the Queen is down in London. Everyone put flags up and some clubs hosted gatherings and such. The only thing I was involved in was a little munch and mingle after church on Sunday (Do they even have munch and mingles in the US, or is that a British thing?)

On Saturday we tracted and had some success!

Then Sunday we gathered together for a Tri-Stake Stake Conference with 2 Area 70's there as well. Things were changing. So the Lichfield Stake is no more and was merged with the Birmingham Stake instead. This is all due to the New mission changes and the plans to build a temple in Birmingham. How cool!

And then today we went to Warwick Castle for our final P-day this transfer. (Warwick is pronounced War-rick. Don't ask me why) It was definitely the best castle I have been to since being here. It has been around since I think like 900AD.

You get to walk around the grounds of it and see the trebuchet, the mill, the power turbine as well. And then inside the walls we got to travel all throughout the ring of the structure and get some good views, learn about and see exhibits of castle life and watch an interactive movie that took us through multiple rooms that explained the castle's history. My favorite part was walking around the furnished rooms inside that royalty lived in. Goodness, could you imagine the luxury of living in your own castle?

After that we got a BANGIN chippy and that was our day.

But turns out after just six short weeks I am moving again! I am going to Swindon. There are 2 sets of missionaries there so that is fun. I am excited!

Now to figure out how I am gonna travel with my broken suitcase wheel...

Here is one of my favorite scriptures I was able to study this week:

"26 And now behold, I say unto you, my brethren, if ye have experienced a change of heart, and if ye have felt to sing the song of redeeming love, I would ask, can ye feel so now?"

I just like it because that is the question: We may have had testimonies, but can we feel so now? That is a question that must be asked until the end of my mortal life and I am glad the Book of Mormon is there to encourage an updated and refreshed commitment to Christ.
