Yay!

Cool Miracle. There is a recent convert from America that just moved in. We went to go see him to get to know him and he was talking about how he struggles with mental health and he wished that he had a friend. Right at that moment a man pulled up on a mobility scooter and recognized who we were. Because of his positive interactions with missionaries and members of the church in the past he was excited to talk to us. And it just so happens that he is neighbors to our friend and suffers the same mental health issues. So our friend got a friend just like that and spent the evening over at his house for dinner. He even gave him a ride to church on Sunday.

 

 

The excitement this week though is with our friend Spencer though. We have only met with her for like 3 weeks and when we started to share the more difficult commandments with her, we were anticipating some resistance. Well, we were dead wrong. She had done all the research herself and committed a few weeks ago to live a chaste life, avoid drugs and alcohol, and to pay an honest tithe to the Lord. 

 

 

We finished teaching all the lessons this week and she joined us for dinner twice with members. At church, she literally spoke to the Bishop about when she was able to get baptized. We had a meeting with her and got it planned for two weeks from now with her literally in that meeting. That is fast. I am beyond excited for her. The biggest change I have ever seen in someone. All because of what she felt when she asked God if this was true.

 

 

Thursday we had Zone Conference in Bristol. It was long, but good. I really liked the presentation on how to address an issue you have with someone in a firm, but kind way. A very needed skill. After that we drove home and got stuck in some horrendous traffic for over an hour. Was a 2 and a half hour journey home. Ya'll know I don't get road rage, but that was stupid haha. 

 

 

For P-day we visited a village, checked out an abbey, and had the best pizza I have ever had. Later!

Hiya! I ticked another item off my mission list. We met with a man this week (The one from Patagonia in the previous email), and we got talking and found out he is the head pastor at 3 Welsh-speaking churches in the area. That is his job. He let us into his Chapel, and we got to look around. It was quite something. On the top of the building (much like our temples), was inscribed the word "Zion". But yeah, it was cool to teach a Welsh Pastor. Don't really see much happening with him though. We also taught Wendy again this week, and this time she cried when she shared about the Plan of Salvation. She is so sweet and humble, and we look forward to continuing to teach her. I pray she joins the church; she would be so good. On Wednesday, we had what I call "Old Person Game Night" at the chapel.
