Wonderful Weymouth

Oh gosh guys, I didn't write last week, so I gotta catch up.

So yes, Weymouth is going alright. The atmosphere is very nice as people are not in such a rush to do things, but rather enjoying the beauty and quaint little things of English culture. The congregation is smaller however at about 1/3 of the church attendance when I was in Swindon. But tbh, I actually like it because it doesn't take too long to get to know the people in the branch.

A highlight of the week has been the weather. Yes, weatherboy has finally had a proper thunderstorm roll through town complete with lightning, floods, and really cool looking shelf clouds. It was so nice even though my White Shirt and Trousers didn't stay the least bit dry. In fact, the day after we went out and it was just nasty, rain and wind on and off. I might as well have gone swimming in the ocean since some cars flying down the road splashed up all that water onto the pavement-and me- next to it. I find it funny. It wasn't too cold, luckily, but we had work to do and I was just happy my comp was rolling with it as well.

My next area of interest as you all know is food. Yes, I made Brazilian Stroganoff. I still gotta figure out the rice, and it was a bit of a weak flavor, so I know next time I need to use half a bottle of ketchup (the secret ingredient). I also am lucky enough to have a member of the congregation who owns a hotel and the pub in it. So we went there and she treated us to some food. I had Turkey Bacon meatballs. Yes, turkey is a bit more rare over here so I do crave it. Was pretty good! Very meaty and heavy.

For the missionary work this week, ngl, it is a bit of a struggle. We spent most of our time trying to find someone to teach rather than actually teaching but my companion is really good at putting himself out there and setting the example for me. You see how the Lord kind of just puts people there as you go along, so it is improving.

Last week for our day off we went to a place called Portland-Bill. That is basically just a lighthouse at the Southern tip of the Isle of Portland (That island in the back of my FB cover photo.) It has one road that goes to it and it is a part of our area, so we like to visit there when we can. But yeah, I found it all beautiful when we walked around there last Monday.

But what is really exciting is that there is this lady Charlotte who has been taught for a little bit by previous missionaries and just recently moved down to Weymouth. She has been asking to be baptized non-stop so as usual that kind of just fell in our laps. She is super nice though, only 25 and everyone that pursues this faith in this country can get so much hate from their friends and family for it, but I love hearing how they know it is true and it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

But yeah, if you wanna come visit me, you can take a 2 week cruise from America here and I will meet you on the Isle of Portland
