God's Plans

Hiya!

 


This week I started out sick unfortunately, but we healed up fairly quickly. I didn't get a break from work though as the UK has decided that it would be the perfect time to have train strikes.


 

So me and my sick comp traveled down to Bristol still to have interviews with our mission president. The Lord helped to heal us though and by the end of the day I had almost returned back to normal. And get this: At a Petrol station nearby the mission office we found Ben and Jerry's ice cream for £1.38. Yeah. Normally it is £5.50. So I got the 3 for less than the price of one. Saved nearly £14! That was great! Then we stopped by to drop off some other missionaries and left it in their fridge.

 


The rest of the week, we had a lot of beautiful miracles and lessons which I can't share, but I have to share this one.


 

One day we woke up and had a plan for the day, but God had a different plan. We got the impression of going to a village called Honeybourne. Why? We don't know.


 

So we did. And we got to a neighborhood and decided to start knocking on some doors. Then we got to a door and a young lad answered the door. I was in the middle of saying something else to introduce ourselves then I just kind of spilled out that "We don't know why we are here today, but God sent us to you and we have a message to share with you. We have never been here in Honeybourne before, but we needed to talk to you today.". And then we came in and shared our message. 


 

A key part of our message is that we can know that it is true by reading the Book of Mormon with a sincere heart and asking God if it is true. We each read a verse in Moroni 10:3-5 and then I asked "Do you desire to know if this is true". Then there was a good long pause and the guy looked up at us and said "after reading that, I have no doubt in my mind that this is true"

 


I was like


 

"Oh, really?"


 

"Uh, that's crazy. Yeah, um you are feeling the Holy Ghost right now. It is hard to describe, but you are feeling it tell you this is true"

 


Then he said

 


"I have looked into different faiths before, but this one is different. This is crazy."


 

***Silence***


 

"Wow"


 

So yeah, then we got his number and his NUMBER WAS ALREADY IN OUR CONTACTS. It blew everyone's mind. I guess God had attempted to share this message earlier.


 

He then said that he woke up that morning and he got a feeling that "something is coming to your door today". 


 

Guys, this is just crazy. What an awesome miracle that God had done for us. We are teaching him again this Friday.


 

These next two weeks are going to be awesome. We have so many DA's and lessons. 


 

I am so thankful to be a missionary for the Saviour at this time. I cry almost every time I watch the Nativity now. He is the Joy of my life. He can give us everything. And He will when we follow him.

Hiya! I ticked another item off my mission list. We met with a man this week (The one from Patagonia in the previous email), and we got talking and found out he is the head pastor at 3 Welsh-speaking churches in the area. That is his job. He let us into his Chapel, and we got to look around. It was quite something. On the top of the building (much like our temples), was inscribed the word "Zion". But yeah, it was cool to teach a Welsh Pastor. Don't really see much happening with him though. We also taught Wendy again this week, and this time she cried when she shared about the Plan of Salvation. She is so sweet and humble, and we look forward to continuing to teach her. I pray she joins the church; she would be so good. On Wednesday, we had what I call "Old Person Game Night" at the chapel. Since our congregation is so old (average age of 60), we had an activity with really simple pub games, which included bowls, 9-pins ring toss, and darts. Surprisingly enough,...
