Decisions.
Hiya!
I'm gonna be honest here—I'm struggling to find super exciting things to write about, but I'll do my best!
OK, so we've been teaching a lady literally across the street from us who is Polish. Most of our lessons have been through Google Translate, with a Polish member joining us via video call from Cheltenham, about 30 minutes away. Well, that member joined us for a lesson on Wednesday, and we taught about priesthood blessings and then gave a blessing that was translated into Polish. It was such a nice experience, and it goes to show that the spirit is felt in any language.
We also had a cool miracle finding a lady named Cree through Facebook spam messaging (It's a new thing we're doing where we message 120 people a day. And it works!). We taught a lesson over Zoom, and we all felt so uplifted and grateful. She is coming to church next Sunday. I'm excited!
Our South African family that is so ready for baptism just needs to be married again, as their South African marriage isn't valid over here. They will become members soon. Anyway, we went to the father's restaurant where he is the head chef and taught a lesson/had dinner with him and his family. The food was also so good. I got fully loaded fries. They were so smothered and so good. I thought it was a pizza at first.
We had Zone Conference, and one of the biggest things I learned was that obedience is not just because something is morally wrong, but because we are willing to do it anyway if the Lord asks. So I made a big decision to put the Lord first and my family second on my days off by not talking to them outside of the set hours, even with the time zone difference. And it's a painful thing, but I know that the Lord will bless me and my family for doing it. A sister in my district shared an inspiring story with me about how she had to make that decision as well and ended up not being able to talk to her family for around two months. With her example, I had no excuse to justify my disobedience. I will see my family in three months if I have to, but I am confident I will find time to talk. Sorry, this is a ramble, but it was a hard decision to come to.
For those families that have the missionaries over, if you're up for it, a fun activity/dinner I had was making your own pizza. Just make the dough and put them on trays. Let each guest top them with whatever you can provide and pop 'em in the oven for 10 minutes. So good.
Oh, and it snowed like a centimeter. So weird.
Thank you for your prayers, everyone.
