Last Transfer

Hiya!

Well, this is it, the final transfer. One marvelous thing is that this is all coming full circle.

My companion is, once again, Elder Gowans from Swindon. He is my favorite companion, and with him by my side, we did amazing work in Swindon.

As well, I started my mission in this area in quarantine. I am now going to end it here.

As soon as I left quarantine, I went to Swansea and was companion with Elder Barry. He was my very first exchange. Now, nearly 2 years later, Elder Barry's younger brother has begun his mission in the SAME area. And I was his very first exchange this past week.

I told President all of this, and he said that he didn't even realize it. The Lord is incredible.

The work of Llanelli has taken a hard hit. We have taught only 2 lessons within this transfer so far. However, there is a bright side as always. The weather is great, the district is great, and my testimony of The Lord Jesus Christ burns strong within.

Things got especially real because I had my departing interview with President and Sister Gallacher this past week. The one thing I will take away most from my mission is that it is really a preparation for life. Allow me to demonstrate.

Being with someone constantly and working towards a common goal?
*Marriage

Studying the gospel every single day so as to effectively teach it?
*University

Encouraging and helping others to make commitments that will bless them?
*Parenthood

Being given a small portion of money every other week?
*Financial management

Leading and following up with assignments specific to people
*Leadership

Being constantly rejected and mocked, but getting on with it to achieve my purpose?
*Overcoming opposition in various aspects of life

And of course, the most direct and eternal concept I feel the mission has taught me:

Coming to God for guidance
*Coming to God for guidance

-Elder Berry
